ABS CNC Machining
ABS is a relatively inexpensive thermoplastic engineering plastic. It has excellent mechanical properties, impact, heat resistance, and machinability.
ABS is frequently used to prototype parts before injection moulding. CNC-machined ABS is an excellent choice for production-like parts with mechanical properties.
Features of ABS plastic :
- Impact resistance, toughness, and rigidity
- Heat and cold resistant.
- Resistant to aqueous acids, alkalis, concentrated hydrochloric and phosphoric acids.
- Alcohol resistance.
- Resistance to an animal, vegetable, and mineral oils.
- It works as an ideal electrical insulator with added moisture resistance.
- Easy to machine.

ABS Machining

Precision machining ABS plastic creates complex, high-tolerance parts with excellent mechanical properties and accuracy.
RpProto offers 3-axis and 5-axis CNC ABS plastic machining services, including milling and turning. It can produce components efficiently in both prototyping and large-volume runs.
Applications of ABS Plastics
ABS plastic has been widely used in machinery, medical, automotive, aircraft, and electronic appliances. It is used to make shells, boxes, parts, toys, etc.
The use of ABS in the automotive field includes automotive instrument panels, gears, fenders, armrests, interior trim panels, steering wheels, bumpers, ventilation pipes, and many other components.
In terms of electrical appliances, ABS is widely used in refrigerators, TV sets, washing machines, air conditioners, computers, vacuum cleaners, etc.
