When you upload a 3D CAD files at RpProto’s website, our engineering team performs a technical assessment on your parts design. We will carefully consider details like manufacturing process, material, finishing options and your quality needs. All these information will be documented well and instruct our manufacturing.
This design for manufacturability analysis is the first steps in quality control in this pre-production stage. It helps to optimize part design and improve manufacturability and avoid costly reworks of a mold.

we are able to perform manufacturing quality control and ensure the parts we manufacture matches your design specifications.
We use the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) for dimensional inspection of parts produced.
CMMs can measure physical parts of an object by sensing and collecting points along its surface using a probe.
It is especially suitable for parts with complex geometries.
On completing the manufacturing process, we use optical comparator/ a projector to inspect the dimension of the components.
This projector is ideal for dimensional check as it precisely measures the part’s dimensions and compare them to the original CAD model.
Any inconsistencies detected by the projector are alerted in a detailed inspection report.
We employ X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) analysis for checking the material quality.
The XRF analyzer uses short X-rays and gamma rays to determine the elemental composition of metals,
plastics and other materials, to inspect the quality of the materials.
It is used for chemical analysis and enables you to do quality control,
quantifications and verification of raw materials.
The Polymax Plastics Analyzer can identify all major families and subfamilies of plastics:
Polyethylene (PE), Polystyrene, Nylon, Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), Polycarbonate (PC) and Polypropylene.
PolyMax can even distinguish plastics that are very similar, including: HDPE vs. LDPE, Nylon 6 vs. Nylon 6.6, and ABS vs. SAN.
We use X-Rite spectrophotometer to capture and evaluate the color of your parts.
It is used to test metal semi-finished products and finished products,
as well as metal processing industry, pipes, bolts, bars, wires, plates, etc.
The Zeiss Comet L3D 2 optical scanner is ideal for checking parts for conformity, identifying manufacturing errors and reverse engineering.
It capture and compute 3D data quickly and with a high degree of precision.

Tighter tolerance are examined on a case by case basis with your technical drawings.
Otherwise we will work to achieve and hold the tolerances listed below. It will vary depending on the manufacturing technique you choose.
RpProto provides high tolerance CNC machining processes for your diverse manufacturing requirements.
For features of orientation (parallelism and perpendicularity) and form (cylindrical, flatness, circularity, and straightness) apply tolerances as table below:

Tolearance are +/- 0.010” or +/- 0.003” per inch, whichever is larger, is typical. Irregular or overly-thick geometries may cause deviances or deflection due to shrinkage.
A shrinkage rate of +0.15% can be expected due to thermal expansion of the liquid, and the response of the flexible mold.
Surface finish is externally smoothed to a satin or matte surface. Grow lines may be present on internal or difficult-to-access features. Polishing or custom finishes must be clearly defined and agreed upon at the point of order.
Sharp corners and text may appear slightly rounded.

First Article Inspection
For low-volume injection molding and CNC machining orders exceed 6000 USD in total price, first article inspection is available on request. RpProto will reviews on the project and contacts customer for detail information.
We produce sample parts according to agreement and deliver to the customer.
The customer receives and examines the parts, inform RpProto if production may begin.
The production starts and finishes production within lead time.
